The Padi Tec 45 Technical diving course is the second of three courses that make up the full Padi Tec Deep Diver course (Tec 40, Tec 45 & Tec 50) and consists of four dives. This course introduces Tec 40 divers to the first stages of full, Technical Deep Decompression Diving.
This is a course where you will rise to the challenge and make commitment to become a technical diver and as such, the course not only develops the knowledge and skills to make open circuit technical dives up to 45m, but also begins developing the knowledge and skills the diver will need at the next level,Tec 50 and beyond
What you will learn
- The skills and equipment planning needed to dive to a maximum of 45m
- The knowledge to plan and execute single/multiple decompression dives using a single Stage Cylinder of EANx or oxygen to accelerate decompression or add conservatism to the planned decompression stops
- Unlimited amount of decompression
- Prepare for and practise the skills and procedures required to respond to foreseeable technical diving emergencies
- Master the skills and procedures required to enable you to move into deeper technical diving
The Scuba Gear you will use
A standard configuration of technical scuba gear, normally back mounted twin cylinders or Side Mounted
- Double/Twin Cylinders, with an isolator manifold, or Side Mounted cylinders
- Primary & Secondary Regulators, with one hose configured with a long 2m hose
- One Stage decompression cylinder
- BCD or Wing & Tec harness with redundant buoyancy, usually provided via a dual bladder
- Computer and backup computer/depth gauge and a bottom timer
- Slates to record decompression information and backup tables
- An exposure suit appropriate to the environment.
Prerequisites
- 18+ years of age
- Certified Advanced Open Water Diver level (or hold a qualifying certification from another organisation)
- Padi Rescue Diver (or hold a qualifying certification from another organisation)
- Padi Enriched Air Diver (or hold a qualifying certification from another organisation)
- Padi Deep Diver (or hold a qualifying certification from another organisation)
- Padi Tec 40 (or hold a qualifying certification from another organisation)
- Have a minimum of 50 logged dives, of which - 12 x dives were made with enriched Air Nitrox (EANx) and were deeper than 18m and 6 x dives that were deeper than 30m (with or without enriched air nitrox)
- Have a medical form signed by your physician
